The Shop

The Bike Lane is a full-service retail bicycle shop located within the city of Chicago. The Bike Lane offers a variety of unique services with a friendly and open attitude towards our customers. The three owners, Max Hertz, Jon Timmins and Adam Glenn are passionate about bikes and hope to share that passion with the community. Whether the customer is here for a lock, tune up, new bike, or even a fresh cup of coffee, The Bike Lane is here to service the Chicago biking community.

With a full line of services and custom bike building, The Bike Lane has something for every rider. Fix a Flat on the Fly, a service offered that will help the biker that's stranded on the road with a flat tire, is available to those located within the city. It doesn't matter if you've been riding for ten years or ten days, The Bike Lane can provide you with the services you need to get on the road today!

The Crew

  • Max Hertz

    Max has been involved within the Chicago bike community for many years. His knowledge and passion for bikes has grown exponentially as he's become more involved in the community. And he can juggle flaming chainsaws.

  • Jon Timmins

    Jon has been working within the bike industry for 12 years. With this long history, Jon has become an expert in servicing bikes. A dedicated year-round rider, Jon biked over 13,000 miles last year. In 2008, he rode his bike all the way to the North Pole.

  • Adam Glenn

    Adam Glenn has a strong background working as a bike messenger in the city of Chicago. His experience as a working cyclist has given him an intense appreciation for bikes as a means of transportation. Adam even learned to ride a bike before he learned to walk.
