Build Your Own Bike

In today’s society, everyone is looking for products that are not only useful, but ones that they can identify with as well. A bike should be no different. Currently, it is very difficult and costly to build a bike suited to one's unique needs and preferences. To create easy access to a custom bike, The Bike Lane will offer Build Your Own Bike (BYOB). With packages designed around all levels of riders and all price ranges, BYOB will have something for everyone.

Custom Conversions

The Bike Lane has designed custom conversion packages for the customer who currently owns a bike, but is looking to improve that bike's look and feel. With a conversion package, a customer can bring in their old ten-speed, and The Bike Lane will convert it into a new single speed or fixed gear bike.

Tune-Ups

Half Tune-Up

• Derailleur Adjustments
• Brake Adjustments
• Checks all nuts and bolts have proper torque
• Chain lubed
• Checks alignment of handlebars, brake levers and shifters
• Tires inflated

Full Tune-Up (includes Half Tune-Up)

• Limit screws are reset
• Hubs adjusted
• Wheels trued
• Brake lever reach adjusted
• Checks alignment of derailleur hanger
• Frame is wiped down and cleaned

The Full Tune-Up goes into checking the wear and tear on parts in an attempt to pinpoint problem areas before they fail or wear on other parts.

Heavy Overhaul

• Hub bearing assemblies are taken apart, cleaned, repacked with fresh grease, and re-assembled
• Headset bearings assemblies are taken apart, cleaned, repacked with fresh grease, and re-assembled
• Bottom brackets are removed and the threads of the frame cleaned. Anti seize is applied to threads, and bearings are repacked with fresh grease if needed
• Drive train gears and chain are removed and washed in our parts washer to remove all dirt
• Replacement of all inner and outer cable housing for brakes and derailleur. If disc brakes are present they will be bled and fluid replaced if needed
